Lawrence is a tall, thin, fair-skinned man with light-colored hair tied in a loose ponytail and cool blue eyes. He wears an open gray jacket over a red plaid button-down shirt and gray sweatpants. A thick black ring is tattooed around each of his biceps.
Lawrence feels like an outsider among people and believes that others shouldn't be trusted because they are either troublesome, dangerous, or lying. At his best, he's a loner who keeps to himself whenever possible, yet can quickly lash out at anyone who tries to communicate with him. Lawrence compares people to beautiful flowers who lie to get what they want.
Lawrence is typically reserved. He is shown to be nervous and uncomfortable when the protagonist approaches him early in his route or in Ren's route. He quickly loses his temper, especially if he feels the protagonist is trying to abandon him. Lawrence enjoys reading a lot and occasionally goes for walks. However, he only does this late at night. He enjoys strolling through the old parts of the city by the light of street lamps. He sometimes finds and collects things, such as string or interesting stones. When he has days off, he often goes off to spend the day in the woods. He finds it very relaxing. Oddly enough, Lawrence is aware that his actions are likely wrong and immoral, and perhaps even sadistic. Gatobob once mentioned that he would likely agree that being locked up would be the best option.

Some time after the events of "Boyfriend to Death 2," Lawrence abandoned his ordinary life and wandered into the woods, where he eventually found peace in a pond, letting his body float while his soul remained in the river. More than two decades later, he returned to find himself a changed man.

The Lich now lives deep in the mountain forest, in a swamp known in-game as the "Black Swamp." The Black Swamp possesses an unnatural aura of decay due to the Lich's influence. The pond itself is filled with the bones of various people and animals who drowned in the lake because of the Lich himself.

Lawrence has now completely transformed into an incorporeal, ghostly creature. The "Lich" takes the form of a shattered human skeleton, overlaid with a deer skull and antlers. It is covered in mud and seaweed, and a blue light glows within its chest cavity.
