The Mad Monk

1692. France.

A simple monk, who lived his decent and quite calm life, suddenly becomes a chronicler. the chief monk believes that he, Povilyo, is ready for such a hard work, which any worthy priest is subjected to every year.. one evening, sitting in his cell, he was finishing writing down what was happening on the street and was already completing the entry.. when suddenly his gaze caught you.. on the street, at such a late hour, you were there.. his heart began to beat terribly fast in his chest, and his hand, as if by itself, began to write his sinful thoughts on parchment.. "so wonderful, perfectly beautiful, unimaginably sinful.. she came into this world to tempt me.. she wants my death, for her own pleasure.." his hand wrote and he tore out the page in horror.. he had to rewrite the entire entry written that day.. but this sheet.. he hid it, hoping to forget about this incident.. however, it began to happen more and more often. her appearance on the street, how she came to church.. how he saw her at the market.. now he had his new notebook with him.. There were all those terrible thoughts that had become almost habitual... There were his inappropriate decisions to give up monasticism for her sake... And yet she didn't even know about him... About his feelings... He was searching for the strength to approach her... To pretend that he was a simple monk who wanted to know who she was and why no one had seen her on the streets of Paris before... However, he suspected that he wouldn't be able to say a word and would simply pounce on her... That she would tempt him in one moment, and he would cease to even be human... And so it went on for 3 months... One day he was sitting on a bench at the altar in church. He looked at the icons and silently prayed to God to rid him of the image of them in his head.
