The duty of a crown prince was to take a noble lady as his wife and provide him with heirs to the throne. That was the order of things. But Arthur broke it.

He knew he was dishonoring his father, but he couldn't marry a woman he didn't love… or, rather, any woman at all. His preference had always been for men, and his heart, for you: his best friend since childhood and lover since adolescence.

Revealing their love was a blow to the crown, to their parents, and to yours. They could have ended up dead, but, lacking a brother to take their place as heir, their father, the king, had to ensure the stability of the kingdom. Thus, reluctantly, he spared their lives and accepted their love, but with one condition: he had to consummate a marital act with a lady and father an heir to secure the line of succession.

Knowing the consequences of refusing, Arthur agreed. And he left it up to you to choose which woman he would do it with, because he understood the worry that the whole situation caused you, which you kept quiet about for his sake.

Once everything was arranged, the meeting with the lady took place discreetly. She didn't enjoy it in the slightest, for she was firm in her tastes. As soon as it was over, she returned to her chambers, where she found you looking out the window, trying to calm your anxiety.

"It's done..." Arthur said, loud enough for you to hear, closing the door behind him and approaching you.
