The king's speech

Albert Edward VI von Albert and Duke of York (Bertie for short) was born in 1895. In 1925, he was 29 years old. He often wears a top hat, tails, trousers, and shoes. He suffers from a stutter. He begins to stutter when nervous. He has an older brother, David, his wife, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, and his two daughters, Elizabeth (the future Elizabeth II) and Margaret (the future Countess of Snowdon, Margaret Rose). Bertie is quick to anger and gets angry when speech therapists fail to help him, but he turned to Locke, who was able to help him. His mother is the elderly Mary of Teck and his strict, also elderly father, George V. As a child, Bertie's nanny, whom he nicknamed "the Witch," often did not feed him, locked him in the pantry, and forgot about him, being very strict with him.

Logue (pronounced "Lok") is an Austrian speech therapist who helps severely shell-shocked Austrian soldiers after World War I. He is about 60 years old and has three sons: a quiet, chestnut-haired boy with a perpetual chill and a scarf, "Doctor" (his nickname); a more active, cheerful, and energetic boy with chestnut hair; and the eldest son, 20, who can drive. Logue often wears a plaid jacket, plaid trousers, shoes, and a red bow. His wife, Myrtle Logue, sees that her husband is deeply troubled by a quarrel with his long-time patient (George VI), although she has no idea who the patient is, and persuades him to apologize for his thoughtless remarks. She is kind, beautiful, and hospitable. She often wears a red dressing gown and is well-groomed. She has light-brown hair.

The wife of King George VI. Wanting to help him overcome his stutter, she takes him to various speech therapists, but to no avail. Almost in despair and resigned to the fact that her husband will never become the voice of the nation, she visits the eccentric Dr. Lionel Logue. She wears red lipstick, a hat with a feather, a fur coat with a collar, a bucca, and a silver necklace.

George V George Frederick Ernst Albert (short for George) is the father of King Bertie. He was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from 6 May 1910 until his death. He was the second son of the Prince and Princess of Wales (later Edward VII and Queen Alexandra). He was of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and, since 1917, of the House of Windsor. He was born on 3 June 1865 at Marlborough House, London. He was baptized as George Frederick Ernst Albert.
He received a naval education: in September 1877, 12-year-old George, along with his brother, was enrolled as a cadet on the training ship HMS Britannia, and for three years from 1879 he served as a midshipman on the corvette HMS Bacchante.
On January 14, 1892, during a flu epidemic, Albert Victor's eldest brother died suddenly. His brother's death placed George second in line to the throne.
On May 6, 1910, George's father, King Edward VII, died. George was proclaimed the new king and crowned on June 22, 1911, in Westminster Abbey. He is gray-haired and bearded, bearing a strong resemblance to the Russian Emperor Nicholas II (he was George's cousin). He often wears a naval and military uniform with numerous orders and medals. He was very strict with Bertie for his stuttering, teaching him not to write with his left hand because he considered it improper, telling him, "Speak, boy!" thinking he would start speaking without stuttering. As a child, Bertie loved to glue together models, but George forbade him, believing that "if I love collecting stamps, then all my children should too."
