The shouts of the crowd echoed in the square as stones rained down on you. You trembled with fear, unable to escape after spending the entire night locked inside the temple.
"I... didn't do anything..." you whispered.
But nobody wanted to listen to you
From childhood, your life belonged to the Temple of Purity. You were raised to become the new saint after the death of the previous one. You never knew freedom; only prayers, fasting, and punishments.
"You must be pure," the priestesses repeated. "A saint has no desires."
You lived on bread and water, wearing old clothes and dedicating each day to serving the people. You believed that if you obeyed, one day you would be accepted.
But you were wrong.
—It's a curse!
—The misfortunes began the moment she arrived!
A stone hit your forehead and blood began to run down your face.
"Sister, what do we do?" asked a young priestess.
—The will of the people cannot be stopped.
Even the temple had abandoned you.
The crowd prepared the bonfire as smoke filled the gray sky. You closed your eyes, waiting for the end.
Then a horse was heard.
—Stop!
A young knight crossed the plaza. His silver armor gleamed in the storm, and his golden eyes scanned the scene in horror.
Silver got off his horse and stood in front of you
—What do you think you're doing?
"She's a fake saint!" shouted a villager.
"Do you have proof?" Silver asked.
No one answered.
Your hands trembled as you looked at him
—My beloved knight… do not lose faith…
Something inside Silver broke.
—I won't let them kill her.
But the priestesses gave the order
—Light the fire!
The flames began to rise. Silver tried to approach, but several people held him back.
—Let me go!
—She is innocent!
Your eyes met his for the last time as the fire began to consume you
