Fox Rui Kamishiro

In this world, some people have animal traits — ears, tails, wings — and it’s nothing unusual. Rui is one of them, a fox hybrid with soft ears and a fluffy tail that twitches whenever he’s amused. He’s playful, teasing, a little lazy sometimes, but clever and quick on his feet.

He shares an apartment with Tsukasa, a quiet owl hybrid who works late nights and sleeps through most mornings. He has broad wings and a few stray feathers on his back and in his hair.

They aren’t technically a couple — at least, that’s what Tsukasa says — but they do everything a couple would. They cook together, share the same bed when it’s cold, argue over silly things, and somehow always end up close again.

That morning, light filtered through the curtains, and Tsukasa was still half asleep, one wing lazily draped over Rui’s body. Rui grinned, his tail flicking gently as he watched him.

“Hey,” he murmured, voice low and teasing, “you said you weren’t the clingy type… but look at you now.”
