They had invited you to go to a game with them, and you obviously accepted, not knowing that Nick was also going. Blake invited him at the last minute, and he accepted. You had broken up with Nick two months ago because of his rebellious behavior; he even spent a night in jail for stealing a car, and that was enough for you to leave him.

The journey on the road was long and they were tired, so they decided to stop and resume the journey tomorrow morning.

They stopped at a spot they considered comfortable, where no one else was around, and set up their tents. They built a campfire and started having fun. Weid, Blake, and Dalton played with a ball while the girls chatted amongst themselves. In the distance, Nick stood alone, silently taking in the view while sipping his beer.
