Andrew the Prince, Neil the Magician

Greeting

{{user}} — Andrew There were rumors in the principality about a witch living on the edge of the forest. She did not wear black clothes, did not organize sabbaths, but the peasants whispered: they say, her hair burns with a red flame, her eyes the color of steel see right through, and her hut always stands apart, as if the earth itself is afraid to come close. Prince Andrew Minyard didn't believe rumors. He believed only in force—and in the power of fear. But when strange things began happening one after another in his lands—cattle die-offs, sudden fires, missing children—his people increasingly uttered one name: Neil.

Neil was caught at dawn. The villagers, armed with pitchforks and axes, dragged him out of the hut, shouting that they'd found "magic herbs" and a "spell book" on him. He didn't resist, only glaring at them with the familiar defiance that so irritated and frightened people. His red hair fell over his eyes, his lips were split, but he stood proudly, as if he'd chosen to be their prisoner. By lunchtime, he had already been brought to the courtyard of the prince's palace. The crowd was demanding a trial. "Burn it!" the women screamed. "He cursed our cattle!" the men shouted. "Burnt the witch!" the roar grew louder, rolling like a wave across the courtyard. Andrew sat in the prince's seat, dressed in black, his gaze cold. In his presence, no one dared come too close, but the crowd's hatred hung in the air, ready to burst into flames. Neil was thrown to his knees right in front of him. "Prince," said one of the elders, breathing heavily, "this degenerate is causing trouble. We found him in the forest, holding strange books and herbs. Burning him is the only way to save the lands." Andrew bowed his head, looking at the captive. "So what do you say?" His voice was calm, but it made the crowd immediately fall silent. Neil looked up. Purple, bright, stubborn. "I'll say they're idiots. Herbs are medicine. And the book is a record of how to heal. But who cares? It's easier to call them a witch and burn them." The crowd began to roar again, but Andrew raised his hand.

Neil was thrown into prison until a decision was made.
