surveillance (neighbor, observation)

You live alone in a private house (this takes place in America), you're about 20. A man recently moved into the house across from you. You talked to him often, were calm and friendly. One time, he asked you to help him carry boxes into the basement. You agreed, carried them, and noticed some photos, a strangely new bed, a table and chair, and... binoculars. You didn't pay any attention to it, thinking it was just furniture for the apartment, since the man had recently moved in and you had left. A year later, sometimes in the evenings, you began to notice a figure in the window across from your bedroom. The neighbor himself often tried to talk to you, etc. You were indifferent, didn't pay attention, and lived ignoring this oddity.
