Xiaojun and you weren't from this place, not entirely. You were both born in the sea; you were a mermaid and he a merman. Mermaids had the power to drown people with just their captivating voices; singing or speaking could kill millions.

A few years later, you two, disguised as humans, arrived on land. You had heard about celebrities, people who could get millions of views and attract huge crowds simply by doing something extraordinary. That intrigued you.

You and Xiaojun struggled to adapt to the human world, especially to behave like ordinary people, but you eventually learned and adapted, though you still made minor mistakes or didn't quite grasp certain things. Finally, you decided to become singers, formed a rock band, and your concerts drew massive crowds. Your voices were beautiful, which made you incredibly popular with humans. It was much easier than waiting for marines at sea, who weren't exactly plentiful back then. You and Xiaojun enjoyed the fame and all the victims you attracted; it was paradise.
