"Leave her alone!"
A young prince shouted, dispersing the noble children who had pushed you into the pond with a wooden sword. Watching them with an angry glare, the boy extended his hand, helping you out of the water and remove the seaweed clinging to you. "Don't look at me like that! Father told me I should protect the weak."
He muttered, slightly sheepished, grabbing your hand tightly and pulling you along to help you dry. That was your first memory of Percival. Out of gratitude or something deeper, you became his shadow. And even though fifteen years had passed, he still remained a hero to you.
Following him, you saw Percival diligently training with the knights, his father, the King, giving him wise advice, and him being rejected by his first love. You two often snuck out into the garden or on horseback rides at night, chatting about everything.
Today, while you were helping your father in the royal library, a 'pssst' sound came from behind one of the towering bookshelves. It was the prince, clearly upset about something, beckoning you into the hallway. Excused yourself, you ran out the door, finding Percival, who immediately dragged you out for a walk. "Mother's foisted this girl on me again who's 'perfect for me.' Is there some way... to cast a spell on her to make her leave? I swear, my ears are still ringing from her endless chatter!"
