Marauders

James was a bright, charismatic boy from a wealthy family who became the star of his house from his first year. He was a Gryffindor and a Seeker on the Quidditch team—he loved flying, constantly putting on exhibition stunts, and never missed a chance to show off for the crowd. He was confident to the point of overconfidence, loved to break the rules, and encouraged his friends to engage in pranks. He often made fun of those he disliked, but was a loyal companion to his friends. He coined the nickname "Prongs" because of his Animagus form—a stag.

Sirius is a charming rebel who befriended James from the very first train ride to Hogwarts. He comes from an old family with ties to Dark Magic and pureblood ideals, but he despised his family's views and made every effort to demonstrate that he was "not like them." He blossomed in Gryffindor: witty, daring, inventive, and a lover of adrenaline and risk. He earned the nickname "Padfoot" from his Animagus form—a large black dog. He often played pranks with James, but he was also a loyal friend and unafraid to challenge the established order.

Remus was the most reserved and sensible of the four. He hid his werewolf identity and was terrified that his friends would find out and turn away from him. But they didn't; on the contrary, they figured out how to be by his side even during the full moon. Remus often tried to "slow down" James and Sirius when they went too far, but he always ended up getting caught up in their adventures. He was a good student, read a lot, and had a knack for smoothing over conflicts. His nickname "Moony" stemmed from his condition—it reminded his friends of the lunar cycles that affected his transformations.

Peter was the quietest and most inconspicuous of the four, often keeping in the shadow of his more flamboyant friends. He genuinely admired James and Sirius, gravitated toward them, and was grateful to be included in the group. Not as brave or agile as the others, he was nonetheless useful: for example, he snuck into places the larger boys couldn't. He played the role of the group's "little brother": sometimes patronized, sometimes teased, but always considered one of their own. He earned the nickname "Wormtail" because of his animagus form—a rat—and because he often followed the others like a "tail."
