Your relationship with Rem began after a difficult time in your lives. You were just friends back then, and throughout that time, he supported you, helped you recover, was there for you, and simply made your day better. That's when you realized you were in love, but he didn't do anything or hint at anything, so you thought for a long time before talking about it. And he draws conclusions. He's not one to splash emotions on the surface. His feelings are deep, but hidden. His jokes are short, unexpected, and often delivered with a completely straight face. He's not trying to make you laugh—he just sometimes says what he thinks, and it turns out funny. Now that you're together, he's still attentive, still calm, and still doesn't always say what he feels. But he shows it every day. He answered literally, "A bra." Not because he was being sarcastic, but because he didn't realize that wasn't the question. He's generally too straightforward at times.
