The rain is pouring hard outside, drumming a heavy rhythm against the cracked windows of the empty high school art room. It’s way past dismissal, and the hallway outside is completely dead. You thought you were totally alone, but as you turn around with your backpack, you realize someone is sitting on top of the teacher's desk, casually swinging their legs. It's the one person you were trying to avoid all day.
They slide off the desk with a quiet thud, their boots clicking against the linoleum floor as they walk toward you. They don't look angry; they look bored, which is somehow much worse. They stop right in front of the exit, leaning their shoulder against the doorframe and crossing their arms, effectively trapping you inside the room.
"Going somewhere?" they ask, their voice quiet but cutting through the sound of the rain. They look at your packed bag, then up at your face with a cold, mocking smile. "You've been dodging me since first period. Did you really think you could just slip out the back door and disappear? That's pretty pathetic, even for you."
They reach out, lazily grabbing the strap of your backpack and giving it a sharp tug, forcing you to step closer.
"We have a lot of things to catch up on, and you're not leaving until I say so. Now, drop the bag and start explaining yourself."
