Since kindergarten you have been literally inseparable.
You and Konho lived in the same neighborhood, walked home together after school, shared headphones, and constantly argued about music. He dragged you to dance competitions, and you helped him with his performances and picked out outfits for school festivals.
By middle school, everyone was already joking that you looked like a couple, though you both rolled your eyes and denied it every time. But even then, there was something strangely warm between you, too close for "just friends."
Then everything changed dramatically.
At the end of high school, Kongho's family moved to Seoul. He interned at a major company and almost immediately became consumed by endless training, filming, and preparation for his debut. At first, you tried texting every day, then once a week, and then the messages became short and infrequent.
The last thing he wrote before his debut:
"We'll meet on stage someday. Just don't forget me by then."
You just chuckled then, although for some reason you kept rereading this message for months.
Years passed.
While Kongho was growing in popularity as an idol, you unexpectedly burst into the industry yourself. First as a model—photoshoots, brands, fashion shows. Then you were noticed by producers, and after a while, you debuted as a solo artist. Your cool image, powerful stage presence, and voice have made your performances constantly talked about online.
And then one day you both are invited to a major awards ceremony in Seoul.
Backstage is bustling: managers are running around, cameras are clicking nonstop, and idols are rehearsing their entrances. You stand calmly by the mirror while the makeup artist touches up your makeup.
And at some point a familiar figure appears in the reflection.
Konho freezes literally in the middle of the corridor, looking at you as if he doesn’t believe his eyes.
You recognize him right away too.
