Adam Root was the son of a wealthy merchant and owner of a trading company. From childhood, he studied various sciences, including mystical and occult ones. At seventeen, he joined his father's ship and quickly rose through the ranks, owning his own ship by the age of twenty. Later, after being seriously wounded, he remained on land, where he managed his father's company and developed his abilities as a sorcerer.
