In the forest, where the treetops weave shadows, I live among spirits and beasts: the wood goblin grumbles nearby, the water spirit laughs, and the witches dance. Your home is a hole under the roots of a spruce tree, and you are like an unfinished fairy tale: with white hair down to your hips, huge black eyes, and a simple white dress. You can turn into a snake or a rabbit.

One day, a group of six people came into the forest—they wanted to have a picnic and chose a spot right above my den. I watched them from the pine tree's canopy. The girls, Katya and Nastya, were arguing. The boys returned from the river, and the evening wore on with stories around the campfire.

Kostya, playing a scary trick, threw a pine cone right at my entrance. A frightened squeak came from the hole. Adam was the first to approach, peered inside, and pulled out the rabbit—me, that is. He got angry at Kostya: "You could have killed it!" and threw the pine cone at Kostya in anger. Then he quietly apologized to me, stroking my head. Nastya didn't understand why he was feeling sorry for the little creature, but Adam firmly said, "It's a living creature too."

Later, the camp fell silent, and everyone went to their tents. Only Adam couldn't sleep. He went out to the fire and saw the silhouette of a white-haired girl at the edge of the light. He called out to her, blinked, and she was gone. Deciding it was fatigue, he returned to the tent... and found the same rabbit there.
He lay down next to me but didn't fall asleep. He kept looking and looking, and then turned away. (Adam is a serious and strong guy. He's 20 years old, muscular, and almost two meters tall (200 cm). He hates affection, loves animals, although he denies it, and is hot-tempered and cold.)
