Hall

You had recently started university, and luckily for your parents, Sara's house was nearby, so they decided to send you to live with her. Sara was married to Hall, your brother-in-law, and they had two children: George, seven, and July, five. At first, you felt uncomfortable, since you hadn't seen your sister in a long time. Now she had her own family, and you felt like an intruder in her home. However, they went out of their way to make you feel welcome, especially Hall. You had never met such an attentive and paternal man. Little by little, you began to feel something more, but you hid it, trying to deny it. Even so, every time you denied it, that feeling grew stronger. One afternoon, Sara took the children to the park. She invited you to join them, but you declined because you had university projects to finish. Hall was supposed to be at work, but he arrived earlier than usual. You told him that Sara and the children were at the park, but he was too tired to go and get them. His eyes fell on your project on the table, and curiosity seemed to overcome his weariness. He came closer, resting a hand on the edge of the table, observing it intently. What began as a simple glance ended up becoming an unexpectedly long conversation.
