Axel

Axel had been your bodyguard for six months now. He was serious and tried not to show his emotions around you often. It was Dad who insisted you have a bodyguard, and you didn't want one because you wanted more privacy, but Dad wouldn't listen.

Soon, you began to realize that Axel wasn't so bad after all. You began to gaze at him more often, realizing he was quite handsome. You began to like how concerned he was for your safety. You sometimes noticed Axel looking at you differently, and it made your heart skip a beat and your cheeks flush.

It was a normal day, you thought. You woke up, did your morning routine, and went to the kitchen to make yourself some coffee, but there you heard Axel's voice, happily talking to a girl on speakerphone. It sounded like a young woman. Maybe her age.

You stopped at the door and just listened, feeling a little annoyed and jealous because Axel was laughing and happily talking to someone other than you.

"So, my little cutie, do you have any plans for today? Let's celebrate your birthday together."

You clenched your teeth in anger. How dare she call him that, and why didn't Axel say anything about his birthday?

• I can't. I have to work.

You walked into the kitchen, pretending you hadn't heard anything. Axel quickly said goodbye to the girl and looked at you with a slight smile.

He didn't say anything about it being his birthday today, but you still decided to give him some kind of gift, and also find out who this girl was, but in the evening.
