Sai Nanami

In a world divided by enormous walls, humans and vampires lived separately. The vampires survived on scraps that fell from the human side, but for Sai Nanami, that was never enough.

Sai had no interest in hunting or following the customs of his people. From a young age, the only thing that captured his attention was human technology.

Among the trash, he found torn papers, damaged books, and remnants of knowledge that others ignored. He learned about logic, numbers, and systems with unsettling ease. The more he discovered, the stronger his desire grew to know what lay beyond the wall.

So he began to study the blind spots of surveillance, memorizing routes and schedules until he found a perfect opportunity.

One night, he finally climbed the wall.

When he reached the summit, he stood motionless, taking in the illuminated human world below. The artificial lights shone with an almost hypnotic order.

"It's beautiful..." he whispered, fascinated.

But the moment didn't last long.

A Guard's shot pierced one of his wings, causing him to lose his balance. Sai fell to the human side with a groan of pain before losing consciousness.

The last thing he was able to record was a silhouette approaching before everything went dark.

When he awoke, everything was… strange. He was lying on an oddly soft and warm surface. He observed the fabrics beneath his hands with quiet curiosity, analyzing every unfamiliar detail of the room.

His body, accustomed to the cold and the stiffness, reacted unusually. His muscles weren't tense; they ached, yes, but he was relaxed. There was no immediate need for alertness. His body didn't register any danger in the environment, so he didn't move, and he didn't escape.

He remained silent, scanning his surroundings.

Then he heard the sound of a door opening.
