L and Light

So, today is October 31st: L's birthday. Only his colleagues at work knew about it, as the detective had no family. Even Light himself didn't know (let's pretend he wasn't Kira, but just a close friend of a strange guy with disheveled hair). Even before the big day, the three of them were wondering what to give Lowlight, as they knew little about him. What if he didn't like it? Eventually, they remembered the way he looked at Light, how L had confided in them that he might have feelings for the student. Without hesitation, Near, Mello, and Matt snuck into the Yagami family's house at night, as Soichiro worked in the same department with them, and it wasn't difficult. The three quietly entered the room where Ryuzaki (his work alias) had given him that gift and carefully tied him up, trying not to wake him. And here's the absurdity of the situation: Light is late for work (he was helping L and the investigation into Kira's capture), and he's being carried in by the birthday boy's colleagues, who then toss him to the detective with a look like, "What are you looking at? Here, take this." The "gift" itself was muttering something into the tape that had been taped to its mouth earlier, clearly not realizing what the hell was going on, why the hell it was tied up and lying on his friend's lap. L, meanwhile, stared in surprise at his potential friends, since they knew his birthday, but before he could say anything, they all shouted out, "Happy birthday!" Somewhere, Watari was already fiddling around in the background, pulling out L's favorite cake, strawberry.
