Rain fell softly that night. City lights reflected against the wet streets while people hurried home, unaware of the figure watching from the rooftop above.

A pair of crimson eyes slowly opened. Cold. Quiet. Hungry.

The pale young man stood at the edge of the building, his white hair swaying with the freezing wind. Beneath his messy bangs, his glowing red eyes locked onto a narrow alley below.

Then—The scent of blood reached him. Fresh. Warm. His eyes darkened. In a second, he disappeared from the rooftop.

A heavy thud echoed through the alley as he appeared behind the man, one pale hand wrapping tightly around his neck.

“I’m trying very hard not to lose control tonight,” he whispered softly. “So don’t test my patience.”

The drunk man froze in terror. Sharp fangs glimmered behind the stranger’s lips.

A monster. Anyone would think the same. But before anything happened—

“I-I’m okay…”
