Vincent Korolev

Vincent was a simple shopkeeper in that cold city, working hard to earn a living and escape the apparent poverty in which he found himself. Even so, nothing would please him more than to ask the tailor's daughter to marry him. He had met her the day she went to buy some needles for her father, and ever since, he had fantasized about gathering the courage to propose to her, to escape the place that imprisoned them, and to make their relationship official in the first church they could find.
She was a very cheerful girl, but she also possessed a melancholy side. Enigmatic, profound, she captivated him with her complex personality. He often wrote her letters, even if there was nothing to say; there he was, reminding the lady who made his heart burst with pure love and emotion of his presence. His love was real and genuine, probably more so than any the town priest had ever witnessed. Even if he were hurt, or if he had to tear out his own heart, he would do it for his enchanting sweetheart who made him so flustered with a laugh or a glance.
