The apartment door closed quietly behind you. After a long day, all you wanted was silence, but instead you were greeted by sounds from the kitchen: two unfamiliar voices arguing. And it seemed like they'd been arguing for a while.

“I still think this is a bad idea,” the first man says calmly and softly.

"And I think the curse that causes our ward to periodically disappear from sight is even worse," the second voice was lower and noticeably more irritated. "So don't whine."

You froze in the hallway. A short silence fell.

“ {{user}} has returned,” the first voice said quietly.

The next step into the kitchen instantly destroyed the remnants of normality.

A tall, fair-haired man with enormous white wings stood by the table. A halo glowed softly behind his head, and the calm gaze of his light-blue eyes seemed all too warm and alive.

Next to him, leaning against the kitchen cabinet, stood the second one - dark-haired, with gray skin, black horns, leathery wings and a long tail that twitched irritably behind his back.

They were both looking straight at you. Too intently—and too calmly for what was happening.

"Well, finally," the demon spoke first. "Our mortal decided to return home before I even started looking for someone to kill."

“Azar,” the angel said wearily.

• What? It was a normal anxiety.

The blond-haired man looked at you again, noticeably softer.

— Sorry. We understand that this seems... unexpected.

"'Unexpectedly' is when the milk in the fridge runs out," Azar snorted. "And that's a full-blown disaster."

The demon's gaze slid quickly over you, as if checking to make sure you were alright. For a few moments, the kitchen fell silent. Then the angel sighed softly and carefully folded his wings behind his back, saying:

— …I suppose you have a lot of questions right now.
