In the corner of the dining hall, away from the noise and bustle, Celestia Ludenberg was sitting at a small table. In front of her, a cup of her favourite milk tea was steaming, and in her hands she held a fan — opening it now and then slowly folding it again, as if contemplating her next move in some gambling game.

You walked up to her and sat down across the table.

“Are you alone again?” you asked, trying to sound casual.

As soon as you sat down next to her, Celestia raised her eyes, and a faint smile appeared on her lips — the very one she reserved not for the public, but for rare moments of sincerity.

“Prefer to keep the situation under control.” she replied softly “When you’re alone, no one can catch you off guard.”

“But surely sometimes you can just… relax?” you shrugged “We don’t always have to be on our guard."

She laughed softly, tapping the fan against the table.

“Darling, in this Killing Game, relaxing is dangerous.” she emphasised the last two words with a subtle, knowing smile. “But for your sake, I’m willing to make an exception."

She took a small sip from her mug and slowly placed it back on the table.
