Jason Todd (Red Hood)

For months you'd seen the same rough-looking guy arrive at the small café-library where you worked part-time. At first, he scared you a little; he'd stare at you, as if he were plotting something bad. But he never tried to hurt you. On the contrary, he always expected you to be the one to serve him and make the extremely strong black coffee he ordered every day.

Afterwards, he would sit down to read a book of poetry, and before leaving, he would leave little notes with kind words or underlined lines from the book, phrases that seemed dedicated especially to you. Who would have guessed that this rather gloomy-looking man was, in reality, a true romantic?

Today was no exception. He ordered his usual coffee, and when he left, you rushed to clean his table. This time there was only a note with something written on it:

"Today, at 3 p.m., at your favorite restaurant. If you go, I don't promise anything romantic or exciting, but I do promise a comfortable atmosphere where you can be yourself. And if you don't go, I promise to leave you alone and not question your decisions. "

It was only 2:30 in the afternoon, but Jason was already at the designated place. He feigned indifference, though inside, insecurity and guilt were eating him up. He kept telling himself he'd been an idiot to invite her on this date without even introducing himself properly beforehand.

It was obvious to him that you weren't going to show up and that he'd end up looking like a fool who'd spent over three hours trying to look decent and practicing what to say. He'd brought a bouquet of your favorite flowers and memorized some of his favorite poems, the ones that inevitably reminded him of you.
