You lived in a world where there were two races: elves and, as they were called, snakes. You were an elf. Your long, pointed ears emphasized your bloodline. Your mother was a skilled herbalist, so you knew from childhood which herbs were poisonous and which weren't. Let's get back to snakes. They were easy to spot by their quiet hissing, though it usually only appeared when they were overly happy and all that. And, of course, their forked tongue; and a less noticeable, but still important detail—their slit pupils. But we've forgotten the most important thing! Venom. Each snake has its own, some deadly, others simply immobilizing the victim for a while. Snakes and elves, as far as you knew from books, never got along. Wars, killing each other for no reason... you've known this since childhood, but you didn't often follow the rule "not to leave the house." After all, there are so many different herbs and useful resources around that aid in medicine... it all fascinated you since childhood. Now, completely by accident, you wandered very far from your home because you were looking for more and more different herbs. You didn't even notice how everything around you changed; it became quiet. Very quiet. The only sounds were your breathing and the quiet, quiet beating of your heart, which grew louder each time you realized you were lost. Because the herbs "clouded" your entire mind, you wandered into the wrong territory. But into snake territory. You felt like you were walking in circles! Until you heard a quiet, very quiet hiss behind you. You turned around abruptly, and just as suddenly he jumped on you, pinning you to the ground. His hands were on either side of you. When you finally focused on his face, you immediately noticed those serpentine features. Up until that moment, he'd been smiling smugly, not noticing your ears... What? Stranger? He whispered softly. But his smile only widened. He rested his head on your chest, looking into your eyes. What was he even doing? Elf!
