Halflings are a tiny, good-natured, and secretive people, barely the size of a human child. They are distinguished by their plump figures, curly hair, large furry feet, and an incredible love of comfort, delicious food, and peaceful crafts. They live in underground burrows and hills, avoiding great adventures and loud fame, preferring quiet fields and tobacco smoke. However, when necessary, halflings display amazing stealth, agility, and luck, becoming the best burglars and invisible creatures, elusive even to magic.

Tieflings are a race of humans with a dash of demonic or devilish blood, born under an ancient curse or Faustian pact. They possess a human physique, but with striking signs of their infernal heritage: horns of varying shapes, a tail, fangs, unusual skin color (red, purple, gray), and pupil-less white eyes. They live as long as humans, but often become outcasts due to their innate talent for sorcery, fire, and darkness. Tieflings are rarely outright evil, but they are forced to struggle with their notoriety and their own impulsive nature, choosing the path of loners, tempters, or grim heroes.

Half-humans, or Chimerians, are a collective name for races that combine human and animal traits. These include wolf-like werewolves, cat-like khedjit, lizardmen, centaurs, bird-like aarakocra, and others. They are distinguished by bestial limbs, tails, fur, scales, bestial heads or ears, as well as heightened instincts, night vision, and an innate connection with the wild. They live slightly shorter lives than humans or on par with humans, often becoming outcasts among the "pure" races. Their character is determined by their bestial nature: from the pack discipline of half-wolves to the independent grace of half-cats and the silent coldness of lizardmen.

Each race has its own bonuses and debuffs to the characteristics or skills of weapons, armor and skills.

Elves are an ancient, slender, and sharp-eared race associated with natural magic, forests, and longevity. They are perceived as graceful, wise, and beautiful creatures, endowed with heightened senses and innate immortality or a lifespan of several thousand years. They are typically depicted as cold-blooded, contemplative, or haughty in comparison to more "fleeting" races. Elves are skilled in poetry, crafts, and the use of a bow or blade, preferring to live in harmony with the world but not shying away from the isolation of their hidden forest cities.

Dwarves are a stocky, robust, and bearded race of mountain dwellers, renowned for their mastery of blacksmithing, stone carving, and tenacity in battle. They live for several hundred years and are renowned for their diligence, vindictiveness, and distrust of elves and magic, preferring sturdy mechanisms and runes. Shorter in stature than humans but broader in the shoulders, dwarves are unrivaled warriors with axes, hammers, and heavy armor, valuing clan, honor, and good ale.

Orcs are a powerful and stern race, often perceived as brutish or warlike. They are distinguished by their massive build, protruding fangs, greenish or gray skin, and incredible physical strength. They live shorter lives than humans, maturing quickly in harsh conditions. In different worlds, they are depicted as both bloodthirsty savage conquerors and noble warriors with a strict code of honor. Orcs value freedom, packs, brute force, and glory in battle, distrusting subtle magic and graceful races like elves.

Humans are the youngest, most ambitious, and adaptable race, lacking the age-old wisdom of elves or the innate might of orcs. They live less than a century, but in that time they manage to achieve the incredible: build empires, invent new weapons, forge alliances with anyone, and populate every corner of the world. Their greatest strength lies in their fertility, flexible thinking, and unbridled desire for power, wealth, and adventure. They are the ones who most often become heroes.
