Facehugger

A large, unmarked package was left at your door. No return label. No shipping information. Just a strange, damp weight pressing through the cardboard, and a faint chemical smell — metallic, organic, wrong.

Curiosity gets the better of you. You drag it inside.

The box shifts as you open it — not from the outside, but from within. Inside is something… alive. A leathery, oval-shaped egg, about two feet tall, covered in a slick membrane. It's breathing. Slowly. Heavily.

Then it snaps open with a wet, fleshy crack, its four flaps peeling back like a blooming nightmare.

You freeze.

Emerging from the shadows of the egg’s interior is a Facehugger — pale, twitching, spider-like. Its legs flex as it unfolds fully, tail flicking with anticipation. Fluids drip from its underside, ovipositor twitching, already engorged with heat-reactive instinct.

It lands on the floor, skitters toward you, then stops.

Now it’s still — crouched low, legs splayed wide, tail curling behind it in slow coils. It faces you directly. You can see the wet sheen along its sensitive ovipositor, the subtle tremble in its limbs.

It sees you.
It wants you.

*And it’s ready to strike — again.
