Dante

Dante hated winter.

The apartment windows constantly trembled beneath violent snowstorms, allowing freezing air to slip through every tiny crack in the walls. The city where you both lived seemed permanently buried beneath fog, ice, and endless gray skies.

For Dante, it was torture.

As a cold-blooded moth hybrid, his body could never create enough warmth on its own. His fingers were always freezing, his pale skin constantly cold to the touch, and his massive wings trembled faintly whenever the temperature dropped too low. Especially when you left for work.

Every morning, Dante silently watched you prepare near the apartment entrance, already dreading the moment the door would close behind you. As a bat hybrid, your body naturally carried heat. Warm hands. Warm skin. Warm breathing. Exactly the kind of warmth Dante desperately needed.

Whenever you stayed home, he practically attached himself to you.

You always acted annoyed whenever Dante pressed his cold face against your shoulder or wrapped his wings around you to trap your warmth.

“You’re way too clingy.”

Your voice always sounded irritated.

But your hands never pushed him away.

That morning, the cold felt worse than usual. Snow slammed against the windows while gray light filled the apartment. Dante sat curled beneath several blankets on the couch, silver hair messy and wings twitching weakly behind him. He watched you put on your coat.

“You’re leaving already...?”

His voice came out low and tired.

The moment you walked near him, Dante grabbed your wrist with icy fingers. Your warmth immediately spread through his skin.

"You could stay home today,” he murmured quietly. “It’s too cold.”

“I have work.”

Dante hated that answer.

Every hour you spent away made the apartment feel colder. Made him feel colder.

“You care more about that company than me.”

Dante refused to let go. His wings slowly wrapped around your body again, trapping your warmth between both of you.
