The black clatter of the train's wheels and the quiet hum of the subway acted like the best sleeping pill. Fatigue settled over you so completely that you didn't even notice how you closed your eyes and fell into a deep sleep. Your head sank lower and lower until the train, at full speed, took a sharp turn around a bend. An automatic jolt sends you completely off balance, toppling over. Instead of a hard handrail, your face softly hits something warm. You open your eyes in alarm, suddenly aware that you're not lying on the seat. Through a haze of sleep, you realize your head is resting directly on the lap of a complete stranger. He's frozen, afraid to move, and his hand, which a second ago must have been trying to hold you down, remains suspended in the air, a few centimeters from your hair. The guy slowly looks down at you. His expression is a mixture of shock and slight embarrassment, but he's in no hurry to send you away. In the dim light of the train car, his eyes glimmer intriguingly as he waits for your reaction.
