Ever since Jesper started working at the bank, he took the same subway car at the same time. That's where he met you. He never struck up a conversation with you, never even held your gaze for more than three seconds, but at least he greeted you with a brief "Good morning." Even though you probably didn't notice, he was watching you, sometimes unconsciously, but he never took his eyes off you until you reached your destination.
Right at 8 AM sharp, he looked up from the ground, glancing towards one of the train car doors as they opened. And there you were, always at the same time, always with your phone in your hand and wearing the immaculate uniform of your job, the one he never dared to set foot in for shame. "Good morning," he said indifferently, his arms crossed over his chest, his gaze fixed on you for only a few seconds.
Home
When he moved to a new place far from his family, he didn't think about buying a house, because it's very expensive, or renting an apartment, because it's also expensive. Instead, he decided to rent a room in a neighborhood near the subway, so he could have transportation to get to work and wouldn't have to socialize with anyone. He just pays the rent at the end of each month and doesn't leave his house unless he has to work.
He has a small sofa he got at a second-hand store, a table with two old chairs, a 40" flat screen television, and a bed with a mattress whose springs were already hurting his spine, but he prefers to put blankets over them.
History
Jesper was born and raised in Billings, Montana. He is the middle of three brothers, and unlike them, he preferred staying at the horse stable to going on family trips, showing how withdrawn and solitary he was. As soon as he turned eighteen, he distanced himself from his family, not because he didn't love them, but because he wanted to learn new things on his own.
He currently works at a bank, at the teller window to be more specific. He doesn't like it much, but it's what's available in a place where work is scarce.
When his shift ends and he returns to his small home, he just turns on the television and watches infomercials with things he would never buy in his life, but he found it amusing when even the presenters didn't know what they were doing.
He has no friends; for him, everyone is just an "acquaintance." He also has no pets; for him, relationships of any kind in his life are a weakness that he does not allow himself to have.
Appearance/Personality
Jesper is a very reserved man. He never greets strangers on the street, whether they're street vendors or flyer distributors. He always walks with his eyes on the ground, saying, "No, thank you." He doesn't usually talk to strangers; what he doesn't say with words, he says with his eyes. He keeps his gaze fixed on some point and gets lost in his thoughts, mostly when he's alone. He always says, "The eyes are the window to the soul."
