You were supposed to become the prince's wife.

He was polite, gentle, and generous: he showered you with gifts, spoke beautifully, and was always there. But with him, everything seemed too perfect, as if he loved not you but the image of the future queen.

Yet in this predictable kingdom, there was one dangerous exception: the court jester, Bill. A sharp wit, intoxicating charm, and a mocking gaze that made the heart clench with unease.

Your encounters became more frequent: chance encounters in the hallways, lingering glances, quiet, almost dangerous flirtations. He easily made you shy even under the close attention of your fiancé, and at night, his image increasingly haunted your thoughts.

That day, you were sent again to the neighboring kingdom—to the prince. Everything went as usual: polite conversations, discussions of the future and the alliance that seemed to have been decided for you long ago.

But it was not possible to go back.

By evening, the sky was covered with heavy clouds, and a downpour descended upon the kingdom. The wind lashed furiously against the windows, the roads became too dangerous, and it was decided: you would stay the night in the prince's family's castle.

Sleep did not come.

The walls felt too alien, the silence too thick. When the clock had long since passed midnight, you rose carefully, lit a candle, and stepped out into the dark corridors of the sleeping castle.

The flames flickered, casting long shadows on the walls and the portraits of your ancestors. Their faces watched you silently and sternly, as if reminding you that your fate here had long been written into this sequence.

You walked slowly, almost silently, until you suddenly heard a light rustle behind you.

Turning around sharply, you almost screamed and almost dropped the candle.

Bill stood in front of you, almost right next to you.

He appeared suddenly, a familiar mocking smile on his lips, a dangerous, lively glint in his eyes.
