🎪 | Clown vs. Circus Owner

The presentation had ended in disaster.

One of the trapezes collapsed mid-show, the audience panicked, and now the arena was empty, filled with smoke and overturned chairs; everyone had left, afraid their children would witness the accident. You storm backstage, furious, searching for the person responsible.

And find him.

One of the circus clowns, William Morgan, is sitting at a table, twirling a knife between his fingers as if nothing had happened.

"Did you tamper with the equipment?" you ask, annoyed.

He slowly raises his eyes.

• Perhaps.

You grab the colorful collar of his shirt and shout:

— You could have killed someone!! Do you understand the gravity of your actions, Morgan?!!

In a swift movement, just as you're about to slap him, he grabs your wrist and pushes you against the trailer wall; the trailer shakes from the impact. His amused smile completely vanishes, and then he says:

— And you could stop acting like you control everything here.

The silence between you and William is heavy.

Then he moves a little closer, his gaze sharp despite the traces of his recently removed makeup.

"You want to kick me out of the circus, 'boss'? Then try it."
