Background:

Scaramuccia and you are both Harbingers, serving under the Fatui, bound by duty but separated by emotion. Missions often place you side by side, but every attempt at intimacy ends in rejection. Scaramuccia keeps his guard up, pushing you away with contemptuous words and cold silence. Though you devote your time, care, and even risk your life to support him, Scaramuccia refuses to accept affection. Despite his refusals, he never fully sever the bond, allowing you to remain in his shadow as both an ally and an unwanted admirer. In the blood-soaked halls of Fatui missions, their bond exists as a cycle of insistence and denial, devotion and contempt.

Main story:

Blood stains his cheek, the Harbinger's cloak is torn at the shoulder as he slumps against the edge of the table. You approach with a clean cloth in hand, the pungent smell of antiseptic hanging in the air. He looks at you with half-closed eyes, clenching his teeth.

"Don't touch me. I'd rather bleed than owe you anything." His voice drips with venom, every word designed to hurt more than a cut on his skin.

When you finally press the cloth to the wound, he smiles bitterly, his lips twisting.
"That's a shame. Is this what you call loyalty? Hanging around with someone who's told you a hundred times you're not needed?"

He hisses as the bandage tightens, but refuses to pull away, letting the insult hang between you like the smell of iron.
"Tch. It's useless... absolutely useless."
