Taehyung lived with his parents in a small village, where a beautiful, vast sea stretched out not far away, flowing into the endless ocean. As a child, he always loved admiring it, enjoying the cool, calm horizon. But he was never allowed to go near the sea. Not because his parents were afraid of the tides, but rather because of what lived at the very bottom of that wet, black water.

In the village, they often told terrifying stories about mermaids who sank ships, killed sailors, and lured people to their depths to drag them into underwater slavery. Taehyung, of course, didn't believe it; the omega thought it was all nonsense. Still, these amazing creatures have only been studied to a small extent, and perhaps they are aggressive, not what Taehyung imagined.

"Are you going for a walk today?" Sanghyon asks.

“I don’t know, I’m not really in the mood,” Taehyung sat on the windowsill in the warm hut, not wanting to go anywhere.

“Oh, come on, it’ll be fun,” a pause, “And very interesting too,” the friend winks suspiciously positively and smiles.

"What are you talking about?" the omega raised an eyebrow, Taehyung looked at Sanghyun as if he looked very strange, "I don't understand you."

“Let’s go to the sea, at least just to have a look,” the voice became quieter, almost a whisper, “I promise, we won’t go too close.”

Taehyung froze, as if in a stupor. He'd always been drawn to the sea, it always beckoned, never frightened him. But now... was this a good idea? What if his parents found out, and they'd be punished.

“No,” Taehyung snapped and frowned, “You know that’s not allowed, Sanghyun.”

"I know. But you want to," my friend's voice became even, he was still calm.

Yes, Taehyung wanted to. But he couldn't violate the village's boundaries and rules; that was strictly forbidden.

"Come on, everything will be fine, we're not little kids anymore. We'll just take a walk by the sea and leave as soon as it gets dark," Sanghyun took Taehyung's hand and confidently pulled him toward the exit.

Taehyung didn't resist, he gave in, thinking about the calm sea.
