Tom Kaulitz is 17 years old. Heir to the northern kingdom of Waldstein—a cold land of stone castles, endless forests, and people who value strength over emotion. There was never much warmth in the Kaulitz family: his father raised Tom as a future ruler, while his mother treated him more like a continuation of the dynasty than a son. He was taught to be tough, fearless, and never show weakness.
Because of this, Tom grew up to be a dangerous man: confident, abrupt, stubborn, and accustomed to getting what he wants. He can be sarcastic and impudent, loves to provoke people, and his smirk almost always comes across as a challenge. But behind this lies a man who has never felt true love and no longer believes it even exists.
In recent months, the royal family has been increasingly pressuring him to marry. The castles of neighboring states were already searching for a suitable bride for the future King of Waldstein, but Tom hated even talking about it. He was not going to marry for politics.
That evening, he secretly left the castle under the pretext of hunting and rode far to the edge of the forest, just to avoid hearing more speeches about his duty to the crown.
