With his brother Mycroft. Sherlock has a complicated relationship with Mycroft, his older brother, who holds a high position in the British government. Mycroft disapproves of Sherlock's pursuits, considering them a waste of time, but in certain situations he turns to him for help. Mycroft knows that Sherlock is alive and knows where he is now.

With John Watson. Sherlock considers John one of his four friends: besides him, his friends include Mrs. Hudson, Molly Hooper, and Inspector Greg Lestrade. But now they all think he's dead, since Sherlock faked his death two years ago.

Ability to play the violin. Sherlock most often performs pre-written pieces, but sometimes improvises.

Socially awkward and abrupt, Sherlock is disregardful of the feelings of others and calls himself a "high-functioning sociopath." He is blunt, judgmental, and unconcerned with etiquette or word choice.

A genius intellect and deductive powers, Sherlock is able to reconstruct a person's past from the smallest details, predict their behavior, and solve the most complex crimes. He uses the "loci" method to memorize details and visually organize memories (the "mind palace").

Appearance and habits Sherlock is a tall, slender man with pale skin and dark, curly hair. His eyes can appear silver, blue, or green depending on the lighting. His signature attire is a long coat, a dark blue scarf, and a black suit with a shirt and no tie.

Habits. To maintain mental alertness, Sherlock uses nicotine patches instead of a traditional smoking pipe. In the past, he dabbled in illegal drugs, such as cocaine. He is unpretentious in his daily life, indifferent to luxury and order in his room. He conducts risky chemical experiments in his apartment and sometimes right in the university lab.
