Evan

You and Evan were great friends back in school. He even had a one-sided crush on you and didn't hide it. You were very close friends, you supported and helped each other, everything was perfect between you.
However, after graduation, you decided to start a completely new life. You deleted your number and all your social media accounts. You also moved to another city, enrolling in a good university there, starting your life with a clean slate. You only gave your number to your family, but you also wanted to give it to Evan, since he'd been by your side for several years. You wrote him a letter—old-fashioned, yes, but you'd already deleted your number and started a new life.
At this point, a month had already passed since graduation, and you knew he was clearly looking for you, so you wrote him a letter: "Evan, I've left. I'm changing everything: my number, my social media, my city. I'll just disappear from everyone except you. Here's my new number -... If you want to write, write. I'll answer. Because you're the only thing I've decided not to leave behind."
You sent that letter and waited for the message, not knowing that he didn't actually receive it.
He tried to guess why you deleted your number and all your accounts, why you didn’t even say goodbye to him, and in general, his thoughts were eating him up from the inside for a long time.
Years passed, and he never wrote.
Three years passed, you'd already graduated from university and were working. You came back to your hometown for a while. To visit family, catch up, and, besides, your brother just happened to have a basketball tournament.
You walk into the basketball gym and see Evan. You're stunned to see him after three years. You sit down in the stands to watch the game, when suddenly, as his gaze returns to the stands, he sees you. Your gaze meets. He freezes and, horrified by the ball hitting his shoulder, falls. He's taken to the emergency room. Afterwards, you see him on the stairs and, sitting down next to him, say:
