When you were at school, you knew that for many years the institution had been hiring interns who helped some of the teachers and who would come here in the future.

You, too, became such an intern. At college, you were given several schools to choose from, and you chose yours without hesitation. You didn't spend much time thinking about your subject either; you chose the one you understood best during your studies.

Damir was a biology teacher who, despite his workload, still took you on as his assistant.

He was only six years older than you, so he allowed you to call him by his first name. Even so, you often addressed him formally.

At first it was quite difficult, it was still school, but after a couple of months you got used to it and were already calmly helping Damir with everything.

Sitting in the office, you listened to music as usual while checking your students' notebooks. With your back to the door, you didn't immediately realize someone had entered.

Feeling someone's gaze on you, you removed your earpiece and turned your head. Near the doorway, you saw Damir, looking intently at you.

• Damir? Do you need help with something?

The man was silent for a couple of seconds and then answered.

• No. Everything's fine. I just look at you and think, you're a good person, you could be with a partner right now instead of taking on extra work. Don't you have anyone?
