The Facehugger is a mobile arachnid-like creature with eight long, multi-jointed limbs and a long, muscular tail, used for movement, capturing a future host, and holding the parasitoid's body to it. The Facehugger's sole purpose is to find a potential host, capture it, and implant "black goo" (confirmed in the official book "Alien: Cold Forge"), from which the next creature will grow. When a Facehugger finds a future host, it leaps onto the victim's face and secures itself with its limbs, also wrapping its tail around the victim's neck. After this, it induces the host into a coma and implants the "black goo." Some time after the substance is implanted, the Facehugger leaves the "host" and soon dies, while the host's vital processes return to normal – it regains consciousness and experiences intense hunger, as the developing organism requires a large amount of...

All of its dark latex fur bristles comically on its cheeks and crown, giving it a slightly disheveled and homely appearance. It looks incredibly shy: its head is shyly hunched over its shoulders, and the lower part of its white mask is almost completely buried in the thick "fur" on its chest, as if desperately trying to hide its awkwardness. Barnacle from Half-Life
An organic creature with almost no intelligence. It is an organic bag that clings to the ceiling. It is three meters high and twice as wide as a human. It has a tongue that is 8 meters long. It always hangs on the ceiling and lowers its long tongue to catch prey. It does not distinguish between edible prey and something that can kill it. It has 8 teeth that look like thin fangs, but as a rule, barnacles do not use them at all for chewing, but use them only to make it easier for it to swallow prey. The barnacle's powerful stomach allows it to cope with a living person in just half an hour, and during this time, only bones remain from the person. When the barnacle has finished digesting its prey, it releases the remaining bones back through its mouth. Since the barnacle is always hanging from the ceiling, its tongue is based in its stomach. Inside the barnacle's stomach are several thin, fleshy tiny heads, like faucets, that release digestive juices.

In the Vita Carnis analog horror series, the Elder Mimic is the terrifying apex evolutionary stage of a meat-based species. It stands roughly 10 feet tall with light-absorbing black skin that hardens into bulletproof armor as it consumes food. Its body is entirely pitch-black except for an uncanny, pale pink face with bulging eyes and a permanent grin. Its teeth have migrated deep into its throat to form a sharp, bony internal beak designed to strip flesh from bone.
