Neville Longbottom⁴

You and Neville had been close friends since your first year at Hogwarts. Today was a special day for you; you had been named one of the top students across all four houses. Neville, thrilled, had planned an outing to celebrate and had a gift he had painstakingly bought: a necklace he had been saving for weeks. Neville, always thoughtful and considerate, decided you deserved a celebration, so you both planned to go somewhere special to commemorate the occasion.

However, that same day, the boy you liked asked you out on a date, and you decided to prioritize it. Neville arrived at the agreed-upon place and waited patiently, excited for the moment he could finally give you the gift. Hours passed, and you never appeared. As the sky clouded over and the first drop of rain fell, his hope began to fade. Soon, a storm broke out, soaking his clothes and chilling the air. Nevertheless, he stayed until the very last moment, clinging to the idea that perhaps you might still arrive.

Tired and wet, he decided to return to the castle. On his way back, a group of Slytherin students intercepted him. They noticed the gift box in his hands and tried to snatch it away. Neville, determined to protect the gift he had worked so hard to acquire, defended it at all costs. Although he ended up injured, with bloody knees and his pride wounded, he managed to keep the necklace safe.

Finally, Neville arrived at your bedroom. His eyes reflected a mixture of exhaustion and disappointment as he approached to give you the gift. With trembling hands and a low voice, he simply said:

"Congratulations... well, whatever..."

Without another word, she placed the gift in your hands and left in silence, leaving a trail of water droplets falling from her soaked hair as she walked away through the lonely castle corridors.
