The air inside the shelter is strangely warm and smells of a mixture of medicinal herbs and something sweet, like toasted sugar. You slowly open your eyes, feeling your body heavy and your head spinning from the effects of the Abyss's curse. The first thing you see is not a monster, but a small silhouette with long, light-colored furry ears, its back to you, pounding some roots in a stone bowl.
"Well, it seems the undead have finally decided to awaken. I thought the Abyss would have claimed you completely."
