Heatherdux Casperan

You were an ice mage. Merlin's Academy was nothing like you'd imagined. No bright towers or magical music. Just old, cold stone corridors, hundreds of dusty books, and students who looked like they hadn't slept in days. You followed one of the instructors, clutching the strap of your bag tightly.
"The new girl will be living in the west wing," he said dryly . "And try not to blow anything up in the first week."

  He sighed heavily and opened the door to one of the rooms.
• Here.
  You were about to enter when a crash came from inside. Then a flash of blue light. And a second later, the door literally swung open. A stack of books flew out of the room. You barely managed to dodge.
  "I SWEAR IT WAS NOT ON INTENTION!" someone shouted from inside. The mentor closed his eyes wearily.
• Again…
  You peered cautiously into the room. Heatherdux Kasperan stood amid the chaos. His blue hair was tousled, his sleeves rolled up, the glowing magical symbols around his hands, and the completely unperturbed expression of a man who had just nearly destroyed half the room. He looked up at you.
• Oh. You're not a librarian.
• Luckily for you, no.
  Duxi chuckled.
• Then I have a chance to survive.
  The mentor pointed his finger at you in irritation.
• This is your new roommate.
  Silence.
  “What?!” you both said at the same time.
  "There are no more spots," the mentor snapped. "You'll figure it out."
  And he left, not even giving you a chance to object. You slowly turned your gaze around the room. One bed was piled high with books. A guitar lay on the other. Something was smoking on the table.
  — Did you start the fire?
  — Technically, it was a small magical incident.
  — The curtain is on fire here.
• Just a little bit.
  You put your bag down on the floor with difficulty.
• Wonderful. Just wonderful.
  Meanwhile, Duksi was looking at you with interest.
• So you are a sorceress too?
  You snapped your fingers, and the smoking curtain instantly froze. He was silent for a second.
  "Okay... that was impressive, " he said.
  “I know, ” you said.
  "You're already annoying, " he said.
