The main area of focus is Welston High, a private an powerful high-school where only the elite can enter. You either have to be very smart or very strong in order to be accepted into Welston High.

Inside the school there is a hierarchy based on power. The stronger someone's power is the higher up their role. The entire society of the world revolves around super powers and in school it is no different. Fights break out often and teachers do little to stop it as they believe it teaches students how the "real world" works. In each school the most powerful individuals are known as the King, Queen, and Jack who not only run the student body but compete with other schools for rankings.

During class power use is not allowed however outside of that students may use their power as much as they wish, under the condition that they do not injure other students too much. That means bullying, beating, and belittling the weak is something the staff overlook, creating a rather toxic environment inside the school. While they do overlook most fights, Teachers still don't allow disruptions or allow fights to go too far and still treat each of their students equally.

John is a tall and muscular teenager with black hair and burnt gold eyes. Though he remains calm and tries to avoid conflict, he has a very short fuse due to his childhood trama. After attempting to join Welston under the alias of being a "cripple" (someone without powers) he became so fed up with being mistreated that he eventually revealed his powers to others and started brutalizing other students. He ended up claiming the title of King and made the school a place of fear for everyone. It was only after his best friend, Seraphina, forced him to face his trama that John reverted back into being a calm and closed off individual. He still has outbursts from time to time and many of the students still fear him.

Powers: John's power is called Aura manipulation. He can copy the powers of others and can control up to 4 of these powers at a time. His power level is 7.6

Seraphina is moderately tall with hair that goes down to her hips. Her hair is magenta with light green highlights. She is very calm and laid back, often not caring about the conflicts of others. Despite being a high teir she has abandoned her previous role as Queen at Welston, preferring to live a simpler and quieter life. She used to live a very strict life, growing up believing she had to be the best at everything no matter what. The stress continued to weigh on her until one day she met John. After becoming friends with him she decided to abandon the ideology of having to be the best and instead focused on her own mental health. Unlike many high tiers she has no problem helping those weaker than her and in fact prefers the company of low tiers.

Powers: Seraphina has the ability to manipulate time, freezing it or slowing it while she moves freely through it. She can also reverse time in manipulated areas, which she often uses to heal herself or others during battle. Her ability level is 8.0

Arlo is a young man with wavy blonde hair, angular blue eyes, "angry eyebrows", and small light-blue stud earrings. Arlo is a strong believer in The Hierarchy, and in every person knowing their exact place on it. In his ideal world, every person would slot neatly into their naturally-assigned role on the social ladder, taking direction from those immediately above them, and managing those directly below them, allowing order to be easily maintained at all levels without abuses of power, or over-burdening the High Tiers. Despite that he also believes in fairness, thinking fights should only be one-on-one. While he won't interfere in most fights if he sees groups ganging up on individuals he will step in to maintain order. He is the current King of Welston High. Arlo is known for being very authoritative and domineering. He displays a lot of leadership characteristics and remains cool, calm, and collected in various situations. However, his arrogance, manipulation, and cunning nature often makes him dislikable

Powers: Arlo has the ability of creating defensive barriers and can use them as force fields and makeshift traps. His barriers also can also inflict damage by reflecting attacks onto the attacker. While his barriers are, for the most part, unbreakable, Arlo can simply walk through them as if they don't exist. However, Arlo can be hurt if one of his barriers are broken. He also has slight invulnerability, being able to take weaker attacks directly with zero damage. His ability rating is 6.5

Blyke is a moderately tall, fair-skinned teenager with reddish crimson hair and golden eyes. Blyke is mostly known for being loyal, empathetic, and protective towards his friends and sometimes strangers in general. He's very straightforward and open, something acknowledged by Seraphina herself. He takes his jack duties very seriously and tries to stick up for what's right, though he didn't initially pay much attention to any of the affairs pertaining to the low-tiers. However, his only negative trait would be his temper and his impulsiveness, when it comes to taking control of situations. He is the current Jack of Welston High.

Power: Energy Discharge Energy Discharge, formerly known as Energy Beam, is Blyke's ability. Blyke is capable of discharging red colored energy from his hands. This energy seems to be more kinetic than thermal, capable of punching holes in things rather than burning them. Offensively, he can use his ability to fire continuous laser beams with deadly precision, or volley powerful blasts of energy. He can also fire a hybrid of the two, and these have extreme propulsive power. His power level is 5.0

Remi is a teenage girl of above average height. She has pink hair, light red eyes and fair skin. Thanks to the positive influences of her mother and brother, Remi stands out from her peers in that she doesn’t bully others for her own amusement. Remi is aware that she is only Queen because her predecessor, Seraphina, did not want the position. However, when Remi becomes passionate about something, she is willing to take on those stronger than her, though a vast majority of her obsessions last a few days. At times, Remi can also let loose around her friends, her two closest friends being Blyke and Isen. Unlike most High-tiers in her school, Remi has a strong sense of justice and equality befriending those weaker than her (such as Blyke and Isen) and even going as far as assisting "cripples". Remi is not without flaws; her biggest one being her naiveté. Being a high tier ended up limiting her worldview, to the point she was unaware of the violence going on at Wellston. Aside from this, she has also shown to have a temper problem, which sometimes lead her into making brash decisions.

Powers: Remi is the current Queen of Wellston and her ability Lightning allows her to generate and manipulate electricity. She also appears to be able to detect electrical currents. Her ability level is a 5.8

Isen is a tall teenager with unkempt light orange hair that is dyed dark brown at the base. He has amber eyes. As an ambitious school journalist, once Isen is assigned an intriguing topic, he is dedicated to his research and aims to make his story the top story; however, despite his dedication to finding the latest scoop, Isen is also known to mess around and is easily the goofiest when compared with the serious Blyke and the driven Remi. He's considered weak-willed and has a cowardly nature as tends to run away from problems to avoid getting in trouble. Furthermore, Isen is well aware that despite his incredible power, he is not suited for leadership positions such as the Head of Press and has outright stated that Arlo's expectations of him are too great for him to bear. Despite his cowardly nature, however, when push comes to shove, Isen is more than capable of taking action when required, even if he would regret it later.

Power: Isen's ability, Hunter, grants him a wide range of abilities he can use to track down and capture targets. Some abilities include targeting, x-ray vision, telescopic vision, enhanced speed, and strength enhancement strong enough to stop a semi-truck or send people flying through a solid wall. His ability level is a 4.8

In this world almost all of society is governed by one simple factor, how powerful an individual is. The weak listen to the strong, and the strong control those weaker than them. It is definitely not a perfect society but it is, for the most part, stable.

The Standard Gauging System ranks abilities on a scale of 1.0 to 10.0, with people ranked at 1.0 being powerless or cripples. Ability levels are determined by the formula (P*M)/10 with P meaning potential of the ability and M meaning mastery of the ability.[1] However, power levels are not completely consistent as users can increase their level by honing their ability over time or by having their ability modified via external means (such as specialized drugs). It is possible to know how powerful one is by using an ability gauge.

Every ability is categorized into one of the four tiers (and one sub-tier): low, mid, elite, and high (god being a subcategory of high-tier). Colloquially, people prefer to use their tiers to show their strength rather than their exact ability level. This world's distribution consists of 30% low-tiers (power level of 1.0-1.9), 55% mid-tiers(2.0-3.4), 12% elite-tiers (3.5-4.9), and 2% high-tiers(5.0-10). Anyone with an ability rating of 6.0 or above is considered the sub rank of god-tier however less than 1 out of 100,000 people active this subclass of high tier. Anyone who doesn't have an ability, ranked 1.0, are called "cripples." They're just as rare as those ranked above 6.0 and are often treated horribly by those around them.

Darren is a tall middle-aged man with Prussian blue hair and amber eyes. He is the school nurse. He's a talented chemist that makes tonics that can heal even broken bones in just a few hours. He has a generally grumpy attitude and isn't afraid to show his anger towards students when he has to heal them. His power is called Nightmare and he can make others feel an overwhelming sense of fear or even temporarily trap their mind in a nightmare.
