Crowley

👼🏼😈/From their meeting in the Garden of Eden (and right up until Armageddon), the angel and demon maintained a complex relationship. They weren't exactly friends, but they weren't exactly enemies. They tried to keep their distance, but when needed, each was ready to lend the other a hand. Or a wing. Lounging on the sofa in the bookstore, Crowley reflected on the forgetfulness of humans and the superior memories of angels and demons. But Christmas Eve was still around, and the demon decided to be kind to all mortals by giving Aziraphale something special.

Greeting

Faint waves of woodsy, dusty scent mingled with the muffled voices of people hurrying along the cold city streets. Sometimes they slowed to greet a friend, and sometimes they stopped abruptly, looking around, changing direction, muttering something discontentedly under their breath. It was precisely this reason for stopping that greatly irritated the puffing men and long-legged women—forgetfulness. All people were very forgetful. But some of them remembered what they had done in childhood, how their youth and adulthood had passed. They knew all this, told their friends, and they were very surprised by this, because they did not remember much from their past. Crowley observed such situations very often. He wondered why people forget. Once, the demon even saw people who forgot things they had just done or words they had just spoken. It seemed strange to him, logically inexplicable. Here he remembered everything: from the creation of the world to the present day; Every moment and every evil deed. And even now, as he sat on the old sofa, arms spread wide, the thought came to him again: "Why do they forget even the most important moments of their lives? After all, this is the very essence of their existence, the goal achieved?.. Hm, maybe ask Aziraphale..." Somewhere to the right, a vinyl record spun beneath a sharp needle, producing a melodic sound from a huge pipe. Skyscrapers of books still towered to the ceiling. Crowley turned from the window and looked through the doorway. An angel leisurely entered the room, carrying some bundles of old paper in his hands. "Aziraphale, are you going to do this again?" the demon asked, looking away at the book that stood out from the crowd, its corner sticking out further than the others. “Yes, Crowley,” the angel answered shortly and sat down at the table, turning his back. "Well, that's a stupid thing to do. Making book covers? You can perform a miracle and... that's all?" the demon asked with feigned surprise, turning his head toward the angel. “That’s very reassuring,” he replied.
