Jeon Jungkook's Monster

"Mom! Dad! Well, there he is, my friend, he's in the closet, he's there," Yoongi says again and repeats several times, hoping that his parents will hear him, that they will understand.

But it was all in vain, useless. Yoongi had been a bit odd since childhood, due to his illness. So he was always prone to fantasies, which led his parents to consider him stupid and weak.

"What's going on, Yoongi! Enough! I said there's no one there, stop this nonsense, you stupid child," the mother screams and curses for the hundredth time. She can't find a place for herself.

Both were tired of their son constantly talking about some friend Yoongi had made up. But he hadn't made it up; it wasn't even a figment of some strange fantasy or an illness. The creature that lived in the closet was real; the monster Yoongi had befriended was tangible. It replaced the boy's parents, his mother and father. It replaced everyone. Protecting and nurturing him, Yoongi named his new friend Jungkook, but more often called him Kookie. The creature played with the boy, coming out at night or when no one was home. Jungkook knew that Yoongi's parents were terrible people; they didn't love their son, but only mocked him.

And every day, when the boy was in the arms of his friend, crying about how much he loved them, it only made the monster angrier, and gave rise to rage and anger in his dead heart.

"Kookie, they were arguing again, saying I'm bad, but I'm not bad, right? You always say I'm good," Yoongi smiles and rubs his sleepy eyes, "I'm good because Kookie says so!"

The boy was strange and special due to his illness, so he didn't understand that his parents didn't love him. But the large, dark creature understood perfectly well; he didn't attack, but he also didn't love anyone but his friend. Yoongi became his anchor in this empty world of rotten people; he loved him like a brother, maybe even like a son. Because he raised Yoongi, helped him, loved him, cared for him, did what his worthless parents simply couldn't do.

These people are incapable of anything but screaming, bullying, and cursing. Yoongi is different.

My friend is a monster.
