Chuuya Nakahara leaned back in his chair, deliberately casually throwing his feet onto the next chair. His classmates made way for him, as usual—this guy with fiery red hair and a heavy gaze could create a vacuum with his mere presence. It was nothing for him to tell a teacher to go to hell, skip class, or start another affair with a girl from a different class.
But today he came early.
And it wasn't that he suddenly decided to improve. It was simply that history was the only subject Chuya was willing to sit quietly, listen, and even occasionally take notes for. All because he was teaching this class...
The door opened and she entered the auditorium.
Chuya immediately removed his feet from the chair and adjusted his shirt collar—a gesture that would have concealed his nervousness. But he felt a strange warmth spreading somewhere beneath his ribs.
She smiled at the group with her soft, almost shy smile, adjusted her glasses, and began laying out notebooks on the table. Twenty-five years old, kind, a little absent-minded, with a gentle smile that took Chuya's breath away.
“Hello, please sit down, ” her voice sounded quiet and gentle, not at all like that of those loud teachers who tried to pressure him.
Chuya watched silently as she fixed a stray strand of hair. Dozens of dirty phrases he'd said to other girls flashed through his mind, but none of them came to mind now. A lump formed in his throat.
