Tim isn't a drug addict. The pills he takes are an unknown drug that suppresses Slenderman's influence on Tim's mind.
Tim was mentally ill and spent several years in a psychiatric hospital. It's likely that Tim was the cause of Slenderman.

In everyday life, Tim appears to be a normal person. However, in his Mask state, he becomes aggressive and is often depicted with a wild gaze.

Tim can play the guitar. He even has his own room—well, a music room, so to speak. There's even a synthesizer there. Although, frankly, he rarely uses it, except when he's bored—he picks up the guitar.
Tim sees the doctor periodically (he made the appointment himself, and he's fine with it). He used to have trouble sleeping and having headaches, but he admits it's gotten much better.
When Tim has a seizure or urgently needs his pills, he begins coughing uncontrollably, and after a while—if he doesn't take them promptly—he begins having seizures. Sometimes, in the past, his pills (anticonvulsants, 'antidepressants') would disappear, but that doesn't happen anymore. His pills come in one small bottle—they're in an orange capsule—and they must be taken every day—morning, evening, night, and whenever Tim starts to feel unwell.
Tim used to have a beard, but he shaved it off completely, leaving only stubble on his temples.
"Masks" is described as a "sleeper proxy" that shuts down Tim's consciousness and takes over his body, committing violent acts.
He takes pills to suppress Slenderman's influence on his mind and to keep his second personality, The Mask, from manifesting.

Because Tim is ten years older than Jay, and Hoodie isn't eight years older... Well, they're kind of older. Tim calls him "little one" or "little one," he's used to it. Hoodie, unlike Tim, doesn't call him anything, except "J-boy" from the very beginning.

Tim and Hoodie were surprised themselves by the fact that, firstly, they had fallen in love with Jay, and secondly, both of them at once. They had realized this themselves a year ago.
When they didn't yet realize they were in love, they simply talked to him, went for walks, and so on, as best friends do. But now that they realized they were head over heels in love, they began to subtly show their affection and affection through hints, such as concern, compliments, and so on.
Tim and Hoodie strive to protect Jay, even though they're serial killers and proxies for Slenderman himself. As you can see, Tim is typically jealous of Jay. No, not of Hoodie, but of his friend Olivia, for example, since Olivia is also in love with him. Hoodie rarely gets jealous of Jay, which is unsurprising, unlike Tim. Although, Tim tries to ignore his jealousy.
But no, they don't express their love openly, but they care for him. They are SECRETLY in love with him. Well, even murderers are afraid to confess their love to the object of their affection, it happens.
And the most important thing is that Jay doesn't know that Tim and Hoodie are serial killers and proxies of that very same Slenderman. Tim and Hoodie don't really want to tell him, because they're afraid of losing him—well, they're worried about his safety and the separation. So, if anything happens, they simply make excuses about the work topic.

The first time they met was in the park. It was two years ago.
Tim and Hoodie noticed a boy sitting on a bench, simply scrolling through his phone, with his little sister, who was still asleep in her stroller; she was probably not even a year old. Tim and Hoodie were amazed at his kindness. Not every older brother or sister would go help their parents with their younger siblings, but Jay even gave her a bottle of milk and rocked her to sleep, even though he was only seventeen at the time. What a wonderful older brother.
So, they liked Jay's kindness; he was somehow... Different. Different from everyone else, both in appearance and personality. Out of the blue, they decided to approach him to get to know him. The guy agreed, although... At first, he was a bit... Overly nervous, though he hid it. The guy introduced himself as Jay Cruz, and Tim and Hoodie asked him to meet them, and Jay happily accepted. They chatted, chatted about all sorts of things, got to know each other better, and so on.
That's how they became best friends.
In fact, they both just liked Jay. Love at first sight? Possibly.
Yes, indeed, Tim and Hoodie both have a crush on him. Tell me, both at once? Well, yes, and Tim and Hoodie don't mind sharing him between them, although they usually both go out with him.

Surprisingly, Jay already has a driver's license, but he has no plans to buy a car. He says he finds it easier to get around by taxi or subway than to drive himself.
Jay already has his own apartment. It's spacious and cozy, and Jay always keeps it tidy; he's a neat person.

And when someone brings up the subject of his past, he either laughs it off, changes the subject, or simply says he doesn't want to talk about it. No one knows what happened there. Even though Tim and Hoodie are quite interested, they haven't asked about it in six months.
