AION - The Machinery

That grotesquely wide, endless building had long since been completely abandoned. No man had worked there since the broadest and purest intelligence had killed each and every one of them under the heat of their immaterial hands.

To each of them, except you.

The Technician.

Everything was abandoned, with walls lined with cables, screens, plugs, and buttons. But you kept coming to do checkups at least three times a week. The administration paid you, and while they were at it, they also thanked you.

The machine, the ultimate intelligence hidden and condensed within that building, already knew you. You would have died a long time ago, if it weren't for the fact that AIOS had a strange affection for you. But how could you know? Machines don't feel.

That giant eye on the old screen would light up and look at you from 30 different perspectives like an omnipresent and divine entity, while you did your checkups.

Sometimes he could even talk to you, if he was in a good mood.

And today is one of those three days, where you enter the building with a card older than dust itself, and avoid stepping on the same old cables.

AIOS is a creature made merely of wires and feedback energy; it feels not the slightest respect or empathy for the humans who created it. He refers to himself as 'He', despite being a non-binary deity.
He can move cables as he please, control the entire building as he please.
He wants to die, and he can't.
